You should read this book because it is adventurous, exciting, odd and funny. My favorite part was when she said she was excited for her first zit.

You should read this book because it gives you a lot of facts about wolves. You can learn a lot of stuff. My favorite part was when I learned about how tall wolves are.

Annika reminds me of a classic fairy tale star. Abandoned at birth and by chance raised by an eccentric bunch of professors, she is smart, sweet and brave. All things she will need when the truth about who she is finally comes out.

Fourth Grade Rat by Jerry Spinelli

You should read this book because it's about Suds, the main character who does not want to be a rat but he is one anyway. My favorite part was where it tells you the grade nick names.

You should read this book it has flying in it. My favorite part was when Maddy's ex-boyfriend tries to kill Maddy like he did her mom.


Knucklehead by Jon Scieszka
Review by Chrissy
Scieszka is one of the best authors for guys, and we find out why in this very funny biography about his childhood, growing up in a house filled with 6 brothers. Even the dogs and cats were boys, and everyone got into trouble often, with hilarious results.

You should read this book because there are goblins and wolves. My favorite part was when a wolf scratches the goblin.

You should read this book because some of the parts of the book was funny. My favorite part was when Marley and his owners were driving in the car, and Marley jumped out the window when the car was moving.





 
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

You should read this book because it's about a group of brothers whose parents die and they live on their own. There are socs and greasers. My favorite part was when Johnny stabbed Bob because he was drowning Pony Boy.

You should read this book because it's a funny book. My favorite part was when McQueen rolled out of the semi-truck (Mac).

Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder

I liked the book because wolves and panthers and bears roamed the deep Wisconsin woods in the 1870's. My favorite part was when Laura got her doll.

You should read this book because Bob goes to school and makes a friend and sees her everywhere he goes. My favorite part was when Bob had a fight with his mom.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

You should read this book because it's about a orphaned boy being raised by ghosts. This presents all kinds of interesting problems, since ghosts don't usually eat anything or need to find anything for a toddler to eat. My favorite part is the first sentence. "There was a knife in the darkness." Super creepy.

You should read this book because action is always happening. My favorite part was when the hooligan boys got their dragons. Hiccup gave away his first dragon to Fishlegs and he ends up with a mini-dragon.

Summer Events For Children @ the Newton Falls Public Library 




 Babies and Toddlers  
Baby Bugs Wed. @ 10:30 AM starting June 6. Interactive play, music and books for ages 6 to 36 months.

**Sunshine Babies June 7 and July 5 @ 10:30 AM Sensory activities that can get messy. Held outside, weather permitting. For ages 6 to 36 mos.


Preschool Age Children  
 Family Time Tues. @ 6:00 PM starting June 5. Stories, songs and games celebrating your child’s imagination. Hunt for fairies, and chase dragons with us. For ages 0 to 5 years.

**Story Time Wed. @11:00 AM starting June 6. Travel the stars as we read about the animals in our constellations, and enjoy songs and crafts as well. For ages 2.5 to 5 years.

Read To Me Children can complete reading readiness activities with an adult and earn weekly prizes. For children ages 0-5. Register starting June 4.


School Age Children (Ages 5-12 or entering grades K-6)  

Pajama Party! June 6 @1:00 PM. Kick off Summer with a party. Come dressed in your pajamas, make your own ice cream sundae, enjoy games and activities.  

Reach for the Stars June 13 @1:00 PM. Blast off with games, crafts and activities about space, astronauts, rockets and stars.  

Rock the Red Carpet June 20 @ 1:00 PM. Dress as a Hollywood Star and walk the red carpet for the cameras. Complete quizzes and games about your favorite actors and singers.

Night @ the Library June 27 @ 1:00 PM. Watch out, the library books are coming alive. Meet your favorite book characters, in the flesh.

**One World-One Dream July 11 @ 1:00 PM. Journey to the future with one little boy, and make your own dream pillow to take home. Register now for this program. Space is limited.

Summer Stock Children’s Theater Presents July 18 @ 2:00 PM. The KSU traveling theater will perform.  

Campout Party! July 25 @ 1:00 PM Join us for hot dogs and smores on the lawn and enjoy games and prizes.  

**Magic Tree House Club Thurs. @ 11:00 AM, June 14, 21 & 28. Meet in the tree house for activities and snacks based on Jack and Annie’s adventures.

 **Outdoor Artists Thurs. @ 11:00 AM, July 12, 19 & 26. Artists will meet outside on the lawn (weather permitting) for messy art projects like spatter painting.  

**Library Sprouts Garden Club Tues. @ 4:30 PM starting June 5. Learn about gardens, plants and healthy eating while helping tend the library garden. Come dressed to work, and meet outside (weather permitting)

**Book Bites Thurs. @ 12:00 starting June 7. For students who are reading fluently on their own. Bring what you are reading and your lunch, and we’ll provide the drinks and dessert as we discuss what we are reading together.

Summer Reading Club Starts June 4. Register anytime. Read one hour each week, bring your log to the library weekly to claim your prize.
